NESCOT Masterplan, Surrey

The Nescot Masterplan represents an efficient and innovative solution to the numerous circulation paths that currently weave across the Campus and places proposed new build structures in the most appropriate locations minimising the loss of any existing mature trees. The creation of a primary pedestrian circulation spine through the Campus gives clarity and structure to the existing network of pathways and now provides sheltered access to most of the academic buildings.

The proposed removal of service vehicle movements from the heart of the Campus is supplemented by the rationalisation of car parking spaces into an extended main car park area. All service vehicle movements now pass through this main car park area due to the proposed removal of the second vehicle entry point adjacent to the Theatre on the Reigate Road frontage. The removal of car parking spaces from adjacent to the existing Main Entrance and North Wing allows the entire western boundary frontage of the Campus to be released to allow the creation of a new College Entrance Pedestrian
Plaza. The masterplan was submitted for planning approval in September, and is scheduled for December 2013 planning committee and a start on site in summer 2014.
