Our challenge is to develop a fresh, contemporary piece of architecture adding a bold statement to Liverpool City Centre and rejuvenating a very prominent site in the city. DAY were engaged by the Client to revisit a scheme produced by others resulting in a substantial increase in student bedroom numbers and a decrease in anticipated construction cost.

ENERGUS is a state of the art training and conferencing centre standing on a seven-acre site in Lillyhall, Workington, along Britains Energy Coast™. Opened in 2009, at a cost £21.5Million, ENERGUS has become established as a Centre of Excellence for skills training, education and business support. The three main activities undertaken within ENERGUS are: the delivery of training and education across the educational spectrum, the hosting of regional, national and international focused conferences and encouraging enterprise and providing business support within Cumbria and innovation within the nuclear sector.

Gareth brings with him a wealth of knowledge as he has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from masterplans at the urban scale to the design of civic buildings, large scale student accommodation schemes, housing and public spaces.
