Rawtenstall Residential Strategy, Rossendale

In Rawtenstall, we felt it was important to bring a mix of uses to 'Spinning Point' to ensure that the site didn't sleep after 5.30pm when all the businesses shut up shop. The different types of uses allows for a mix of people, ensuring that the project caters for all ages.

In Rawtenstall, the residential and retail mixed use schemes provide a mixed offer for residential units, with some for open market sales and the other for over 55's living.

We propose two buildings named 'Point 1' and 'Point 2'. The corner unit of Point 1 sits prominently on the junction of the highstreet, Bank Street and Kay Street boasting a large shop frontage area.

These retail units share a canopy with the super bus stops which run along Kay Street. This will generate a high footfall past the retail units encouraging trade. Second floor flats of both Point 1 and Point 2 have private external terraces facing onto Kay Street. In addition, Point 1 has two external shared terraces for resident use overlooking the Spinning Point site and Kay Street.
