Kleinwort Benson, 14 St. George Street, London

Working with an interiors-based fit-out Contractor, DAY were appointed to provide full design management and design co-ordination services on this high profile project in London for a private investment banking organisation. The role entailed the overall design supervision and management of the sub-contractors' design proposals to ensure that the original concept design was fully reflected and captured within the detailed design process.

The scheme was across five floors and entailed the complete refurbishment and alterations to the existing 19th Century Georgian building to accommodate new offices, meeting areas and a Client's Suite, including a Michelin rated 5 star restaurant. A new 'Client' entrance was also formed within the existing external fa├žade to accommodate a new Reception and Waiting Lounge.

The emphasis on this project was the attention to detail, focusing on indifferent material interfaces between the stone feature walls, glazed partition and hardwood timber sliding doors, to name just a few. DAY were also responsible for the settingout and co-ordination of all interior finishes, including the reflective ceiling plans, to ensure that no engineering services clashed with the varying forms of ceiling details.
