Buckton Building, Tameside General Hospital

The scheme itself comprises of the design and delivery of a new 16 bed long term Low Secure Unit at The Buckton Building, Tameside General Hospital.


The scheme involves a major refurbishment, reconfiguration and extension to the Lower Ground floor of the existing building. All of the bedrooms will be full ensuite and have been designed to satisfy the current practices in relation to ligature resistance and clinical risk reduction measures. The plans include for a new single storey extension complimented with a sunroom, extended dining area and fully landscaped secure external terraced gardens. The project also includes the upgrade and renovation of an existing internal courtyard into a Zen, sensory and relaxation garden for the Clients.
