THE COURT HOUSE, Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria

The Court House is located at the heart of the Kirkby Lonsdale Conservation Area and is a sensitive contemporary conversion of an interesting historic building. Working with Local Authority Conservation Officers and English Heritage this high specification residential conversion for a private Client, is being nominated for a Civic Trust Award.

The conversion works within the constraints of original architectural features to produce an inverted accommodation solution with two double bedrooms and bathrooms below a double height lounge, sitting area and kitchen / diner to exploit the views across the nearby Lancashire countryside. DAY liaised closely with Specialist Conservation Sub Contractors to successfully deal with issues associated with a property of this age.
