Zenith Building, Manchester

Designed by Ombler Iwanowski The Zenith Building is one of Manchester's most iconic structures located in the heart of the financial core.

From its imposing double height recessed entrance, to the spectacular fully glazed duplex offices on the top floors, Zenith is a building that exudes quality. Soft white Portland stone and rich Zinc cladding set the tone; full height windows afford maximum light, as well as stunning views out across the city towards the pennines, whilst brise soleil is very effectively employed to reduce solar gain.

In addition to these high performance glazing and cladding systems, the building utilises state of the art low energy active chilled beams, into which are integrated cooling, ventilation and lighting.

DAY in-conjunction with Lambert Smith Hampton have recently been appointed via an open design bid to refurbish and enhance the communal lobby areas of the Zenith for potential new tenants. A shopping list of concepts were developed to create maximum impact whilst managing commercial cost factors. This allowed the Client to pick and choose items which can be teamed together to create the desired effect. Inspiration was taken from the bold orange colour which is synonymous with the building and introduced as a feature ribbon in vinyl wall graphics and paint reliefs to subtle recessed lighting. The overall feel is fresh, contemporary and clean.
