Providing a safe, reassuring and supportive new environment.
Extensive refurbishment of two wards, to deliver a new fully compliant in-patient ward facility, all with modern En-Suite Shower / WC provisions. The new facility is designed to deliver acute care to elderly in-patients across the wider region of Greater Manchester. Emphasis was given on providing a safe, reassuring and supportive new environment to actively encourage and promote elderly patient rehabilitation. Post-operative support including a new Gymnasium and ADL Kitchen were provided. The use of a ‘race-track’ circulation design and clear lines of sight achieved with considered planning and design, was a key factor in supporting free-movement of patients, to encourage both independent and assisted mobility.
